A Bone from a Dry Sea by Peter Dickinson

This is a book that takes place in two different times, now and four million years earlier. A girl named Vinny is on an expedition trip with her father. They are excavating a site where their early ancestors may have lived so long ago. Which is correct because four million years earlier a young girl named Li is creative and smart. In a way, she leads her people and she teaches them useful things to live. The plot line follows Vinny into the expedition and Li into her life as an early human.

I did not like this book. I had to read it for school. The story with Li wasn't all that bad, I actually kind of liked it. I just didn't like Vinny and her plot line AT ALL. So, I guess I personally wouldn't especially recommend this book. If you have to read it for school, it's not all that bad, but if you have the option, you might want to read something else.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 10 because I only liked half of the plot line and I only liked that part of the time.
